Field Trips & Events

**All field trips require pre-registration and sign-ups begin in August for SHAPE members, then open to others after August 31st. PLEASE NOTE:  To secure your spots at each field trip, you must send post-dated checks, dated 30 days before the event date to the SHAPE address on the Membership Form.  Membership form available here:  201718 SHAPE Membership Form.   If a field trip is full, you may generally contact the venue and plan to attend on your own, or organize a small group and go!

SHAPE 2017-2018 Field Trips & Events

Fri/Sat June 23 & 24 / 9:00am-5:00pm   SHAPE Used Curriculum Sale at Trinity Church, Spring Hill. Save money by buying and selling used curriculum!  Sellers manage their own tables, set their own prices, and keep 100% of their sales.  No outside tables. Table rentals are $15/table for both days, or $10/table for one day.  Table reservations and payments must be made before day of sale.  Contact Tara at:  tfebert@gmail.com for more information or to reserve a table.

Mon July 24  TN History Tent Revival at the Cool Springs Marriott conference center, a teacher’s in-service event open to homeschool teachers, sponsored by Bill Carey and TN History for Kids.  One of the presenters is Bobby Cain who was the first African American to graduate from a high school in the South!  Of course Abraham Lincoln will be there, as well as experts on World War I, the Battle of Franklin, slavery, integration and so much more.  Registration is $40pp. More info:  http://www.tnhistoryforkids.org/tentrevival.

Sat Aug 5 / 9:30-11:30am        SHAPE Parent Preview Open House @Spring Hill Public Library.  Parents-only event where you can learn more about SHAPE & area opportunities, sign up for membership, & sign up for this year’s field trips and events.

Wed Aug 9 / 10am-1pm       7th Annual SHAPE Back to School Carnival @Winchester Building, Evans Park. Play games, win prizes!  SH Fire & Police Departments and Tennessee’s National Guard will be present, as well as The Balloon Man, Kona Ice, Back to School photo booth and more!  Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at the park afterwards!  FREE for SHAPE member families; $5 all other families.  Membership available at the Carnival or download, complete & mail the membership form above.

Tues Sept 5 / 7:00-9:00pm   MomBuilders FREE evening of encouragement for SHAPE mommas.  Watch for these throughout the year!  Email carla.rae.harper@gmail.com for more information.

Mon Sept 18 / 7:00-9:00pm  Homeschool 201: High School & Beyond at the Winchester Building/Evans Park.  A helpful workshop for those looking ahead to high school and college.  Dual enrollment & financial aid information also included.  FREE.

Sept through May show dates TBD / 11:45am        Nashville Children’s Theater (NCT) The oldest children’s theater in the nation offers top quality stage plays for families.  Pre-registration required. $8pp.  This year’s line-up includes:
