**All field trips require pre-registration and sign-ups begin in August each year for SHAPE members, then open to others after August 31st. PLEASE NOTE:  To secure your spots at each field trip, you must send payment via Paypal or post-dated checks (dated 30 days before the event date) to the SHAPE address on the Membership Form.  Membership form available here:  201718 SHAPE Membership Form.   If a field trip is full, you may generally contact the venue and plan to attend on your own, or organize a small group and go!

SHAPE 2018-2019 Field Trips & Events

Fri June 8 / 9:00am-3:00pm   SHAPE Used Curriculum Sale & Class Fair at Trinity Church, Spring Hill. Save money by buying and selling used curriculum!  Sellers manage their own tables, set their own prices, and keep 100% of their sales.  No outside tables. Table rentals are $15/table for both days, or $10/table for one day.  Table reservations and payments must be made before day of sale.  Contact Wendy at:  shapecoordinator@gmail.com for more information or to reserve a table.

Sat Aug 4 / 9:30-11:30am        SHAPE Parent Preview Open House @Spring Hill Public Library.  Parents-only event where you can learn more about SHAPE, homeschooling & area opportunities, sign up for membership, & sign up for this year’s field trips and events. 2018/19 SHAPE Membership will also be available online with payment made through Paypal.

Wed Aug 8 / 10am-12pm       8th Annual SHAPE Back to School Carnival @Winchester Building, Evans Park. Play games, win prizes!  SH Fire & Police Departments will be present, as well as Home Depot, The Balloon Man, Back to School photo booth and more!  Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at the park afterwards!  FREE for SHAPE member families; $5 all other families.  SHAPE Membership also available at the Carnival..

Tues bi-monthly TBD / 7:00-9:00pm   MomBuilders FREE evening of encouragement for SHAPE mommas.  Watch for these throughout the year!  Email Mandy at shapecoordinator@gmail.com for more information.

Fall TBD / 7:00-9:00pm  Homeschool 201: High School & Beyond  A helpful workshop for those looking ahead to high school and college.  Dual enrollment & financial aid information also included.  FREE.

Sept through May / 11:45am        Nashville Children’s Theater (NCT) The oldest children’s theater in the nation offers top quality stage plays for families.  Pre-registration required, $8pp.  Contact Leah at shapecoordinator@gmail.com.  This year’s line-up includes:

Wed Oct 17 / 10:00-11:30am        SHAPE History Festival at the Winchester Bldg. Students or families create and present displays about a historical topic or person. Costumes are encouraged!  FREE to participate and open to visitors.

Mon Dec 17 / 10am-12:00pm        SHAPE’s Cookies & Caroling for the Community @Winchester Bldg.  Families bring cookies and gather to decorate more cookies, make platters for city offices & area retailers, and deliver them along with some musical Christmas cheer! $5 per family.

2019

Thurs Jan 11 / 10:00am        Nashville Shakespeare Festival’s Winter Shakespeare: JULIUS CAESAR at Belmont’s Troutt Theatre.  Ideal for high school, Q&A to follow.  Contact Shelley (shelstedman@gmail.com) for tickets:  $8pp.

Feb TBD / 1:30-4:00PM   SHAPE Homeschool 101:  The Basics @Spring Hill Library.  Panelists, Q&A, representatives from area tutorials and enrichment opportunities.  FREE & bring a friend!  Email Carla at shapecoordinator@gmail.com for more information.

Feb TBD / 10:00am-11:30am     SHAPE We Love Books Literature Festival @Spring Hill Library.  Families/students create and present displays about a favorite book, series or author.  Costumes are encouraged!  FREE to participate. Visitors welcome.

Spring TBD / 9:30am-11:30am   Homeschool: Special Edition! A workshop at the Spring Hill Library designed to help offer support and encouragement to parents of special needs children.

Mar 28-30    Teach Them Diligently Nashville Homeschool Convention at Opryland Hotel.

Spring TBD       Great Homeschool Conventions – Midwest: Cincinnati OH

Spring TBD / 9:30am-1:30pm        THEA Homeschool Rally Day on Capitol Hill, Nashville.  Annual gathering where homeschoolers from across the state gather to meet our state representatives and hear updates on legislations that directly affect our families and our freedoms.  FREE to attend + low cost lunch option.

May TBD / 8:45am-1:30pm        8th Annual Spring Hill Area Homeschool Field Day sponsored by Classical Conversations, SHAPE, and area businesses. A great way for your family to wrap up the school year, along with 400 other homeschoolers from the Spring Hill area!

Sat June 1 / 2:00pm        8th Annual SHAPE Graduation Ceremony.  A lovely ceremony with cake reception open to any Spring Hill area homeschooled high school seniors. Hosted by members of the Junior class.  Email shapecoordinator@gmail.com for more information.
