This is the single most frequently asked question of homeschoolers, and it’s ironically the biggest challenge because you will quickly discover that there are so many opportunities for homeschoolers to “go” and “do” things with each other, that it takes an incredible amount of discipline to stay “home” enough to “school”! As with anything, participation in these opportunities takes planning and intentionality, but socialization among homeschoolers can be rich, diverse and frequent (especially in a community like ours!) and it often involves multi-ages rather than the same-age peer groups typically found in school settings.
So, yes, socialization is a big benefit of homeschooling. Thanks for asking!
